Sarah Frances (Carrington) Venable (1852–1925)

Sarah Frances Carrington of Danielsville, Madison County, Georgia married Daniel H. Venable son of John Moorman Venable Jr. and Martha Justice son on July 11, 1872.

Daniel and Sarah spent most of their lives farming in the Mulberry River community, on land that had been worked by his father and grandfather and later became their own. They raised one son and three daughters:

  • Beulah B. Venable (1874–1912)

  • Mary Elizabeth Venable (1876–1954)

  • Walter Lee Venable (1880–1956)

  • Susan M. Venable (1887–1976)

Daniel H. Venable died in March 1915. The Winder News, as reprinted in the Jackson Herald of March 11, 1915, reported that he was sixty-four years old and a highly esteemed citizen of Mulberry. The obituary noted that funeral services and interment were held the following day at the Justice burying ground. It listed his surviving children as Mrs. E. L. Durham, Walter Venable, Mrs. Will Mahaffey, and Miss Beulah Venable.

Sarah Frances Carrington Venable lived another decade. She died on October 31, 1925, and was buried beside her husband in the Justice Cemetery in Jackson County, Georgia.
