Our Goals
Preservation and Respect: To preserve the entire cemetery and ensure that all those buried here, regardless of race, are acknowledged, honored, respected, and left to rest in peace.
Education and Reflection: To create a site where visitors—descendants, local residents, and others—can learn about the people buried here, reflect on their lives and their communities, and understand the broader history of the region.
Permanent Historic Park: To maintain the cemetery as a small (1.1-acre) permanent historic park— a place of quiet beauty and meaningful history, open to all who wish to learn, honor, reflect, and remember.
